FEDIC FAUNA is a non-profit foundation created in december 2025 by a team of swiss and colombian biologists.
The foundation was created in response to an urgent need to raise awareness among local communities in rural and remote regions of Colombia about the intrinsic and biological value of native wildlife, as well as the threats these species face.
A central challenge is that much of Colombia’s fauna remains poorly studied—making it impossible to protect or teach about species we do not yet fully understand.
Our mission therefore operates on three interconnected fronts: education, scientific research, and active conservation, working jointly to advance the long-term protection and well-being of Colombia’s wildlife.
To study and actively protect wildlife and its habitats, generating rigorous scientific knowledge and promoting public awareness and engagement to ensure their long-term conservation.
The foundation engages in multiple projects to advance scientific knowledge and produce outreach content to promote efficient conservation and good relations between local communities and native fauna.

We offer supervision to guide undergraduate students through the full process of developing wildlife-focused thesis projects on Colombia’s fauna, providing scientific mentorship, field experience and support, and access to real research projects.
